My Taste Shelf operates MyTasteShelf.com, a recommendation-sharing service for movies, TV shows, books, music, and related media. Contact us at support@mytasteshelf.com.

We collect account email, password-authentication status handled by Supabase, Google OAuth identifiers when you use Google sign-in, username, avatar URL, bio, taste tags, recommendations, consent records, report submissions, donation records, device logs, IP address, and basic browser information.

Your username, avatar image, bio, taste tags, and recommendations are public by design and may appear on profile, discovery, sharing, and comparison pages. Your authentication email is private and is not shown on your public profile.

We use data to create and secure accounts, display public profiles, save recommendations, process voluntary donations, respond to reports, prevent abuse, maintain logs, comply with law, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal data or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We use Supabase for authentication, database, and storage; Vercel for hosting and logs; Google for OAuth when selected; metadata APIs such as TMDB, Open Library, Google Books, and iTunes for media search; and payment providers if donations are processed.

For GDPR, UK GDPR, and similar laws, we process account and profile data to perform the service contract, use security and abuse logs for legitimate interests, process consent records based on consent and compliance needs, and process legal requests where required by law.

My Taste Shelf is available globally and our providers may process data in the United States, India, Europe, or other regions. We rely on provider transfer safeguards such as data processing terms, standard contractual clauses, and comparable lawful mechanisms.

Depending on your location, you may request access, export, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, appeal, or withdrawal of consent. California users may request to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal data as those terms are commonly used under CCPA/CPRA.

Signed-in users can download a JSON export and delete their account from Account Settings. Deletion removes the Supabase Auth account, public profile, avatar links, and recommendations. Limited security, consent, donation, and legal records may be retained when necessary.

My Taste Shelf is not directed to children under 13. Users must confirm they are at least 13 before creating an account. If we learn that a child under 13 created an account, we will delete it.

We use necessary cookies and local storage for authentication, security, session continuity, and consent state. We do not currently use advertising cookies. See the Cookie Policy for details.

Profile and recommendation data is kept while your account is active. Media-search cache is intended to be short lived. Abuse, consent, donation, and security records may be retained longer to meet legal, tax, fraud prevention, and trust-and-safety obligations.
